Milang Milang is situated on Lake Alexandrina, not that far from the mouth of the River Murray.  Once a riverboat trading town, it is now supported by surrounding farms and visiting tourists.  Strathalbyn, settled in 1839, 3 years after the state of South Australia was formed.  Many of the original buildings are still being used.  Over recent years the town has begun to expand rapidly.  The images offered on this page have been made partly to record the town as it was before the current rampant development. Strathalbyn The images of the Clayton farm museum were made during a visit to the Bordertown area in July 2010 whilst attending a Working Sheepdog Trial on the town oval Overview The images in this sub-gallery feature structures (mainly buildings) that have in the main, stood for many years, and in my opinion, have earned their place in our landscape, and deserve to be retained. Too much of Australia’s history is being lost at the hands of insensitive developers who are hell bent on ripping down anything that gets in the way of their profit driven enterprises. Not only are developers destroying our built heritage, but are frequently covering our best agricultural land with bricks and concrete. Clayton Farm Museum
