Adelaide zoo is located in the inner City of Adelaide on 8 hectares of land amidst the Botanic gardens, while the Monato zoo is an open range zoological park of over 1000 hectares where visitors are driven round to the many exhibits in large airconditioned busses. Five major habitat exhibits have been developed, including the Asian Steppes, arid North Africa, African plains and Asian grasslands, as the first stage of development at Monarto. The second stage includes habitats for the Cheetah, African Dog, African Lion and Black Rhino.
